apple-toolsReach Apple PIM data (Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, Messages, Location, Maps, Weather) from a pi session via iMCP + pi's built-in MCP on macOS.
Apple Tools is an agent skill from BlackBeltTechnology/pi-agent-dashboard. Reach Apple PIM data (Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, Messages, Location, Maps, Weather) from a pi session via iMCP + pi's built-in MCP on macOS. Use when the user asks to read/search their Apple Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, iMessages, current Location, Maps, or Weather. Does NOT cover Apple Mail — iMCP exposes no Mail service; use apple-mail-fast-export for email.
Its SKILL.md is about 760 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Productivity & Automation, covering Transactional email and Messaging and chat bots. It works with Model Context Protocol and macOS. The repository describes itself as: Real-time web dashboard for pi coding-agent sessions. Multi-session view, live chat mirroring, integrated terminal, diff viewer, pi-flows execution, and mobile-first remote… The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 86e8e4d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
github.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Apple Tools loads about 760 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 95 tokens; SKILL.md has 351 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from BlackBeltTechnology/pi-agent-dashboard at commit 86e8e4d, republished under its MIT licence (© BlackBeltTechnology). 351 words, ~760 tokens.
.claude/skills/apple-tools/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Access Apple personal-information-management data on macOS through iMCP, a menu-bar app that brokers the OS permission grants, reached over MCP by pi's built-in MCP (pi ≥ 1.0.0).
Calendar · Contacts · Location · Maps · Messages · Reminders · Weather
If the user asks to read, search, or summarize Apple Mail / email:
apple-mail-fast-export skill instead — it exports .eml files
directly from the on-disk Apple Mail store."Messages" satisfying an email request is a category error: Messages is iMessage/SMS only.
The agent reaches iMCP tools through pi's built-in MCP, not by spawning the
server. Do not run imcp-server directly. Tools appear as mcp__iMCP__*
(through codemode, or tool_search when the entry's exposure is
deferred). Search the available tools, then invoke.
This skill runs the installer's --check traversal on load (one sw_vers plus
a few stat calls; short-circuits instantly on non-macOS). If iMCP is not
provisioned it reports the gap and names the fix:
pi-apple-tools-installTerminal states mirror the CLI and the dashboard panel:
UNSUPPORTED_PLATFORM, OS_VERSION_UNKNOWN, OS_TOO_OLD, NO_INSTALL_METHOD,
INSTALL_FAILED, CONFIG_UNPARSEABLE, CONFIG_WRITE_FAILED,
READY_PENDING_GRANTS.
READY is NOT one of them. It is a live-access result — reachable only by a
successful tool round-trip through pi's built-in MCP, never by the provisioning
traversal, which cannot know whether the TCC grants were given.
If the state is anything other than READY_PENDING_GRANTS, do NOT attempt
Apple-data tool calls — report the gap and the pi-apple-tools-install
command first.
The final step — granting Calendar/Contacts/… permissions — happens in the iMCP menu-bar app and cannot be automated (Apple's TCC security model has no API).
pi-apple-tools-install will not restore a TCC grant.© BlackBeltTechnology, MIT. Rendered from Markdown: HTML in the file is shown as text, images as links, and headings moved down two levels. Raw file
