About this skill

Agent Quota Check is a skill in aqua5230/usage (338 stars). Its SKILL.md is about 297 tokens. Licence: AGPL-3.0.

Requirements

  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Bash(${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/quota.sh)

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit e8340ad. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Bash(${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/quota.sh)

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • uv
    • brew

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use uv, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Agent Quota Check loads about 297 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 27 tokens; SKILL.md has 142 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~27
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~297

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Quota snapshot from usage-cli status --json:

!${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/quota.sh

Report this snapshot to the user in their language, one short line per agent:

  • Name the agent (claude-code → Claude Code, codex → Codex) and its model.
  • Give five_hour.used_percent and seven_day.used_percent. A null percent means unknown; say so instead of guessing.
  • Turn each window's resets_in_seconds into "resets in Xh Ym" (or "Xd Yh" past a day). If it is null or absent, say the reset time is unknown.
  • If age_seconds is over 3600, say the numbers may be stale. For Claude Code, the built-in /usage command is the live source.
  • If an agent has "available": false, say it has no local data.

If the snapshot says usage-cli is not found, tell the user to run uv tool install usage-cli, or install the menu bar app with brew install --cask aqua5230/usage/usage (https://github.com/aqua5230/usage).

Do not run any other command.
