cardputer-buddyAdds apps to the Cardputer-Adv MicroPython bundle and pushes changed files, serial logs and one-off REPL commands to a device that is already set up.
This skill covers day-two work on the Cardputer-Adv app bundle after the device has been set up with the m5-onboard skill. The buddy/ folder in the local build-with-claude clone holds the MicroPython code that gets copied to /flash/ on the device: a launcher main.py, shared buddy_*.py libraries for BLE, UI, state, protocol and characters, and an apps/ folder.
At boot, main.py lists every .py file in /flash/apps/ as a menu entry, so a new app is just a new file in buddy/device/apps/ that you push to the device. The skill points the agent to hello_cardputer.py as the smallest example of keyboard polling, fonts and exit conventions, and to install_apps.py for pushing the bundle without re-flashing. Scripts in buddy/scripts/ push selected files such as apps/snake.py over USB serial, and handle watching device logs and running a single REPL command.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 315c4e4. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Cardputer Buddy App Iteration loads about 461 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 107 tokens; SKILL.md has 87 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Cardputer Buddy App Iteration needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: A Cardputer-Adv already provisioned with m5-onboard; A local clone of the build-with-claude repository; Python 3 and a USB serial connection to the device.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Cardputer Buddy App Iteration is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 461 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
