nitroReference for Nitro v3, the server toolkit behind Nuxt: file routing, route rules, caching, storage, tasks, websockets and deployment presets.
Nitro builds one codebase into output for Node.js, Bun, Deno, Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify and more, and runs on H3 v2 and unstorage. The skill lists its capabilities: filesystem routing with event handlers, route rules for caching, headers, redirects, proxying and CORS, a caching layer with stale-while-revalidate, runtime config overridable by `NITRO_*` variables, scheduled and on-demand tasks, WebSockets and server-sent events, a SQL database layer, OpenAPI docs, plugins with lifecycle hooks and custom renderers.
A notice flags the changes from the older `nitropack` v2: the package is now `nitro`, auto-imports are removed, directory scanning is opt-in through `serverDir`, `useStorage` became `useKV` with a `kv` config option, and cache SWR now defaults to off. Fifteen files in `references` cover routing, configuration, storage, cache, assets, rendering, plugins, tasks, websockets, database, OpenAPI, deploy presets and migration, with a migration page to read first when versions are unclear.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit e53a142. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Nitro Server Toolkit loads about 948 tokens when it runs, and up to ~17k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 71 tokens; SKILL.md has 290 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Nitro is a framework-agnostic, deployment-agnostic server toolkit powered by H3 v2, unstorage, and Vite/Rolldown/Rollup. It powers Nuxt and works standalone. From one codebase it builds optimized output for Node.js, Bun, Deno, Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, and more.
Key capabilities:
NITRO_* env vars.Key v3 changes (vs.
nitropackv2): the package is renamednitropack→nitrowith H3 v2 (web-standardRequest/Response); auto-imports are removed (import everything explicitly); directory scanning is opt-in viaserverDir;useStorage→useKV(nitro/kv) and thestorageconfig option →kv; cacheswrnow defaults tofalse. If unsure about v2-vs-v3 APIs, read advanced-migration first.

Nitro Server Toolkit fits situations like: writing server routes and event handlers in a Nitro project; configuring route rules, caching or storage in nitro.config; deploying a Nitro app to Cloudflare, Vercel or another preset; migrating from nitropack v2 to Nitro v3.
Run `npx skills add antfu/skills --skill nitro -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/nitro in antfu/skills) into .claude/skills/nitro in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add antfu/skills --skill nitro -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/nitro in antfu/skills) into .agents/skills/nitro in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add antfu/skills --skill nitro -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/nitro, .gemini/skills/nitro, .github/skills/nitro and .opencode/skills/nitro in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Nitro Server Toolkit is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Node.js, Bun or Deno with a Nitro v3 project.
SKILL.md names 2 domains. As links in the text: h3.dev and unstorage.unjs.io. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Nitro Server Toolkit is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 948 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 16k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
