At a glance

Retake the stylebot.dev gallery's theme screenshots in site/src/assets/gallery/ with yarn capture:gallery, then check each one by eye before committing.

  • Works in 2 steps: Run it → Look at every image
  • A gallery theme is added
  • SKILL.md covers 1. Run it, 2. Look at every image and Adding a theme
  • Calls yarn

What it does

Capture Gallery is an agent skill from ankit/stylebot. Retake the stylebot.dev gallery's theme screenshots in site/src/assets/gallery/ with yarn capture:gallery, then check each one by eye before committing. Use when a gallery theme is added or its CSS changes, when a gallery image looks out of date, or when the user asks to "screenshot the gallery theme", "retake the gallery shots", or add a theme to the gallery.

Its SKILL.md is about 470 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Frontend & Design. The repository describes itself as: Change the appearance of the web instantly. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • A gallery theme is added
  • Its CSS changes
  • A gallery image looks out of date
  • The user asks to screenshot the gallery theme

Example prompts

  • “screenshot the gallery theme”
  • “retake the gallery shots”
  • “/capture-gallery”

Workflow steps

2 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Run it
  2. Look at every image

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 7b0b7e0. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • yarn

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use yarn, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Capture Gallery loads about 465 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 95 tokens; SKILL.md has 209 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~95
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~465

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

description
Retake the stylebot.dev gallery's theme screenshots in site/src/assets/gallery/ with `yarn capture:gallery`, then check each one by eye before committing. Use when a gallery theme is added or its CSS changes, when a gallery image looks out of date, or when the user asks to "screenshot the gallery theme", "retake the gallery shots", or add a theme to the gallery.

yarn capture:gallery builds the extension, then applies each theme in site/src/assets/gallery/<site>/<theme>.css on its live site in a fresh headless Chrome and saves the page, without the panel, as <theme>.png beside it (1440×900 at 2x).

1. Run it

yarn capture:gallery hn/newspaper
  • Names pick a theme (hn/newspaper) or a whole site (hn); none retakes every theme. yarn capture:gallery --help lists them.
  • --no-build reuses dist/.
  • Only sites with a page in PAGES in scripts/capture/gallery.mjs are taken: NYTimes blocks headless Chrome and Gmail needs a sign-in, so theirs are still taken by hand.

2. Look at every image

Open each PNG and check, before saying they're done:

  • The site loaded, not a bot check, consent dialog or error page.
  • The theme's fonts arrived, rather than the browser's fallback.
  • Nothing reads as broken: a clipped header, overlapping text, an unstyled block.

Send the user the images, then commit them once they're happy.

Adding a theme

  • Save its CSS as site/src/assets/gallery/<site>/<theme>.css, starting with a /* Site: Name */ line.
  • Add an entry to site/src/lib/gallery.ts: its name, the image and CSS imports, and two swatch colors, the background and its accent.
  • A site that isn't in PAGES yet needs a page there that loads headless, with no images or ads up top that would shift between runs.
