compose-expertGuides Jetpack Compose and Compose Multiplatform work across Android, Desktop, iOS and web, plus Android TV, Material 3 motion, paging, navigation and design-to-code.
The skill activates on Compose API mentions (state, side effects, navigation, theming, lazy lists, modifiers, recomposition), Compose Multiplatform terms such as `commonMain`, `expect` and `actual`, resources and iOS or web entry points, Android TV topics like D-pad focus and carousels, Paging 3, atomic design systems and design-to-code requests. Casual phrasing such as a slow Compose screen or broken recomposition also counts.
Review Mode starts on GitHub PR URLs and review phrases, and Compose projects are detected automatically when a session starts. The guidance is backed by references to AndroidX and Compose Multiplatform source, with files on accessibility, animation, composition locals, deprecated patterns, modifiers, navigation, paging, performance and multiplatform. It now ships as a plugin, and copies placed by hand in `~/.claude/skills/` are no longer updated.
5 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 954ef54. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Jetpack Compose Expert loads about 4.8k tokens when it runs, and up to ~693k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 209 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,597 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,597 words (~4,848 tokens).
“The frontmatter description: is intentionally short to satisfy Codex / Copilot CLI's 1024-character cap on that field (see issue #12). The full trigger surface lives here so it stays available to Claude after the skill loads.”

Run `npx skills add aldefy/compose-skill --skill compose-expert -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/compose-expert in aldefy/compose-skill) into .claude/skills/compose-expert in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add aldefy/compose-skill --skill compose-expert -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/compose-expert in aldefy/compose-skill) into .agents/skills/compose-expert in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add aldefy/compose-skill --skill compose-expert -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/compose-expert, .gemini/skills/compose-expert, .github/skills/compose-expert and .opencode/skills/compose-expert in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Jetpack Compose Expert is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: A Jetpack Compose or Compose Multiplatform project.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Jetpack Compose Expert has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 4.8k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 19k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 688k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
