At a glance

Assert the work behaves by iterating the project's coding assertions until they pass, plus optional architecture and frontend facets.

  • SKILL.md covers Actions, Transversal rules and Assets
  • Instructions only: no scripts, shell commands, URLs or credentials in SKILL.md

What it does

03 Assert is an agent skill from ai-driven-dev/framework. Assert the work behaves by iterating the project's coding assertions until they pass, plus optional architecture and frontend facets. Use to validate an implementation. Not for reviewing or writing tests.

Its SKILL.md is about 430 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 6 other files, including assets (for example `actions/01-assert.md`, `actions/02-assert-architecture.md` and `actions/03-assert-frontend.md`).

It sits in Frontend & Design. The repository describes itself as: Marketplace Framework AI-Driven Dev : Context Engineering, Plugins, Agents, Skills, Hooks, Templates, SDLC. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Validate an implementation

Example prompts

  • “/03-assert”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 6e30640. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

03 Assert loads about 429 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 54 tokens; SKILL.md has 188 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~54
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~429

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Skill: assert

Validate that the work behaves as intended: run the project's assertions, iterating and fixing until they pass.

Actions

#ActionFacet
01assertRun the project's coding assertions, fixing until they pass
02assert-architectureReport where the code breaks the documented architecture
03assert-frontendInspect the running UI, fixing until the behavior is right

Run every applicable facet by default, or one when named. Coding (01) always applies; add 03 when the work has a UI and a frontend is running, the facet resolving the URL itself; run 02 only when architecture conformance is asked for. Skip a facet whose precondition is absent, with a noted reason. Ask only when the intent is genuinely ambiguous. Before running an action, read its file in actions/, not only the table or assets.

Transversal rules

  • Gate: it returns a pass or fail verdict on the work.
  • Fix loop: the coding and frontend facets fix and re-run until they pass. The architecture facet only reports, never fixes.
  • Stop only when every selected assertion passes a final clean sweep.

Assets

  • assets/task-template.md: the tracking file the frontend facet fills across its fix loop.

When should I use 03 Assert?

03 Assert fits situations like: validate an implementation.

How do I install 03 Assert in Claude Code?

Run `npx skills add ai-driven-dev/framework --skill 03-assert -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/aidd-dev/skills/03-assert in ai-driven-dev/framework) into .claude/skills/03-assert in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

How do I install 03 Assert in Codex?

Run `npx skills add ai-driven-dev/framework --skill 03-assert -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/aidd-dev/skills/03-assert in ai-driven-dev/framework) into .agents/skills/03-assert in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.

Can I use 03 Assert in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add ai-driven-dev/framework --skill 03-assert -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/03-assert, .gemini/skills/03-assert, .github/skills/03-assert and .opencode/skills/03-assert in your project.

What does 03 Assert need to run?

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: 03 Assert is instructions for the agent only.

Does 03 Assert access the network?

SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

Is 03 Assert safe to install?

Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

What licence does 03 Assert use?

03 Assert is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.

How many tokens does 03 Assert use?

About 429 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.

What are the alternatives to 03 Assert?

Skills that share tags, products or a category with 03 Assert: Web Artifacts Builder (anthropics/skills, 180k stars), React Doctor (makeplane/plane, 60k stars), React Composition Patterns (vercel-labs/openreview, 1.7k stars) and Impeccable (bestofjs/bestofjs, 3.1k stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
