At a glance

Create atomic conventional commits; safely retry scoped hook fixes; optionally push.

  • The user wants to commit changes
  • SKILL.md covers Actions, Transversal rules and Assets
  • Instructions only: no scripts, shell commands, URLs or credentials in SKILL.md
  • Optionally pushing the branch

What it does

01 Commit is an agent skill from ai-driven-dev/framework. Create atomic conventional commits; safely retry scoped hook fixes; optionally push. Use when the user wants to commit changes, optionally pushing the branch. Not for amending, rebasing, opening a pull request, or tagging a release.

Its SKILL.md is about 400 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 6 other files, including assets (for example `actions/01-collect.md`, `actions/02-message.md` and `actions/03-commit.md`).

It sits in Development, covering Commit messages and Pull requests. The repository describes itself as: Marketplace Framework AI-Driven Dev : Context Engineering, Plugins, Agents, Skills, Hooks, Templates, SDLC. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • The user wants to commit changes
  • Optionally pushing the branch

Example prompts

  • “/01-commit”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 6e30640. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

01 Commit loads about 399 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 61 tokens; SKILL.md has 154 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~61
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~399

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Stage, message, commit. 01 → 02 → 03.

Actions

#ActionStep
01collectStage one concern
02messageWrite the conventional message
03commitCommit, safely retry scoped fixes, push if asked

Several concerns means several commits: repeat the chain, one concern at a time. Before running an action, read its file in actions/, not only the table or assets.

Transversal rules

  • Follow the project's convention in aidd_docs/memory/vcs.md when set, else assets/commit-template.md.
  • One concern per commit. Imperative mood. The body says why, not what.
  • Reference the issue in the body when there is one.
  • Never --force push; --force-with-lease only when explicitly asked.
  • Retry a rejected hook only for deterministic changes within the current commit's files. Never broaden the change to make a check pass.
  • auto never prompts. interactive confirms before staging and before each split.
  • Commits locally by default; pushes as well only when the push option is set.

Assets

  • assets/commit-template.md: Conventional commit format reference.
