testerTest and validate AgentUse agents without real side effects.
Tester is an agent skill from agentuse/agentuse. Test and validate AgentUse agents without real side effects. Use when verifying a new or changed .agentuse file, dry-running an agent, testing approval-gate flows unattended, mocking tool outputs, or iterating on an agent in a closed loop before letting it run for real.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.8k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Agent evaluation and testing. The repository describes itself as: 🤖 AI agents on autopilot. Any model. Runs local, cron, CI/CD, or Docker.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 8e524de. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

Tester loads about 1.8k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 69 tokens; SKILL.md has 774 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
once in `~/.agentuse/.env` to omit the flag.Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 774 words (~1,822 tokens).
“Use test workflow to check steps or test result to compare a deliverable. Test sessions are stored and inspectable like any other, and is visibly marked: agentuse sessions shows a · mock status suffix, sessions show prints a Mock: line…”

Run `npx skills add agentuse/agentuse --skill tester -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skill-data/tester in agentuse/agentuse) into .claude/skills/tester in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add agentuse/agentuse --skill tester -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skill-data/tester in agentuse/agentuse) into .agents/skills/tester in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add agentuse/agentuse --skill tester -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/tester, .gemini/skills/tester, .github/skills/tester and .opencode/skills/tester in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Tester needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git).
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: docs.agentuse.io. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (mentions a .env file), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Tester has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.8k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 7.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
