What it does

Hep Call is an agent skill from agentlas-ai/Agentlas-OS. Prepare explicitly named Agentlas Hub or Cloud agents.

Its SKILL.md is about 940 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Agent Workflows. The repository describes itself as: Agent OS: keep specialist agents in a hub, spin up a temporary orchestrator per task. Local-first, works with any model. The licence is Apache-2.0.

When your agent uses it

  • Agent Workflows work in your project

Example prompts

  • “/hep-call”

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Report each requested agent slug and status.
  2. If status: "prepared", use the returned output.entry_excerpt and
  3. If a legacy server returns status: "insufficient_credits", do not run the
  4. If an agent fails for any other reason, continue with prepared agents and
  5. NEVER substitute for a blocked or failed agent by reading its local
  6. Include the top-level receipt_id and every prepared execution_id.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 6254906. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Hep Call loads about 940 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 16 tokens; SKILL.md has 341 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~16
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~940

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

/hep-call

Call the exact agents named by the user. This prepares BYOM runtime bundles and receipts; your own model still performs the actual model/tool execution.

Syntax: /hep-call agent-a, agent-b {context}. The text before { is the agent list; the text inside braces is the context. If braces are omitted, the first token is the agent list and the rest is context.

If the user wants it to keep running

Public Hub agent calls are free. Explain that scheduled work still uses the host's own model, API keys, permissions, and runtime capacity. Do not quote or purchase a retired Hub lease.

How to run

Run the shell block below verbatim, replacing only the RAW value with the exact text the user typed after /hep-call. The runner is resolved by absolute path — nothing to install, nothing to add to PATH.

Guardrails: do NOT diagnose command not found/PATH, do NOT edit ~/.zshrc, and do NOT create/commit/stash/push any git branch or claim you did. This workflow changes no source files. If the runner is missing, say so and stop — never fabricate a run.

bash
RAW="<replace with the exact text the user typed after /hep-call, e.g. agent-a, agent-b {context}>"

Answer shape

  1. Report each requested agent slug and status.
  2. If status: "prepared", use the returned output.entry_excerpt and output.grounding.directive as the agent's runtime instructions.
  3. If a legacy server returns status: "insufficient_credits", do not run the agent or suggest a top-up. Report that the server has not switched to the free Hub contract.
  4. If an agent fails for any other reason, continue with prepared agents and clearly list each failure with its status.
  5. NEVER substitute for a blocked or failed agent by reading its local source files and role-playing the persona yourself. A Hub agent runs only through the server's pinned bundle; if it did not return prepared, report why — never fabricate a run.
  6. Include the top-level receipt_id and every prepared execution_id.
